How to Categorize Groups by Group Types

Table of Contents

This article will demonstrate how to sort groups into four categories: General, Country, School, and Teacher. These categories help you keep the system organized with clear rules. It all starts with General groups, and then you can create more specific groups like Country and School, and it all wraps up with Teacher groups.

Accessing the page #

Select the Users/User groups tab to access the User group page.

In the Type column, you can filter the user groups by type. The group types are the following: General, Country, School, and Teacher.

All previously created groups will be of General type, and a subgroup of the General group must be a General group.

Only top-level groups can be of Country or General type.

Subgroups of Country groups must be of School type.

Subgroups of School groups must be of Teacher type.

Teacher groups cannot have subgroups, just the top-level group.

Add the user to a desired user group. For example, we have added the user to the Italy group of Country type.

A user can be a member of one group of Country, School, and Teacher types at most. The user can be a member of many General groups.

When deleting a user from the user group, all the sub-groups and user groups will be removed from the user profile in the User groups tab.
